A Nursery for Bomere Heath Families
A short drive west, on the Walford Campus
Bojangles is just three miles west of Bomere Heath — one of the closest day nurseries to the village. For families needing full daycare with a Baby Room, year-round opening, or simply a rural setting outside town, the journey is short enough not to disrupt anyone's morning.
The journey from Bomere Heath
We're about three miles west of Bomere Heath. The drive is typically 6 to 8 minutes via local country lanes through to Baschurch and onto the Walford Campus. The route is quiet, with no traffic-light junctions and no school-run congestion to fight through.
For parents whose work takes them west — toward Oswestry, the A5, or further into rural north Shropshire — the drop-off is on the route rather than a detour. For parents commuting east into Shrewsbury, the geography is less helpful: you'd be heading away from your destination before turning back. In those cases, a Shrewsbury-side nursery is often more practical, and we'd be the first to say so.
Why Bomere Heath families come to Bojangles
Bomere Heath is a village of around 1,000 people without its own day nursery, so families needing full daycare look just outside the village. The two practical options are Bojangles to the west and Shrewsbury settings to the south. Choice usually comes down to:
- Working pattern. If you commute west or stay local, Bojangles is closer. If you commute deep into Shrewsbury, town settings might be more convenient.
- Setting preference. Country versus town. Outdoor space versus paved play areas. Smaller team versus larger nursery group.
- Continuity. Many Bomere Heath families have older children at Bomere Heath Primary or Baschurch Primary — we run pre-school routines that bridge into both.
We're open 48 weeks a year, full daycare 8am to 6pm. We accept all funded hours including the 30-hour entitlement for working parents from 9 months.
About Bomere Heath and the families we know
Bomere Heath is a village of around a thousand people sitting between Shrewsbury and Baschurch, with farmland on most sides and a strong sense of distinct community despite the closeness of the town. There's a village hall, a primary school with a long history, and a working dairy and arable mix in the surrounding fields. Most families know each other through the school, the cricket club, or the local toddler groups.
The Bomere Heath families we know at Bojangles tend to fall into two camps. The first are working parents whose work is north of the village — out toward Wem, Whitchurch, the A49 corridor, or further. For them, the morning drive to Bojangles is an extension of the existing route rather than a detour. The second are families with one parent in Shrewsbury employment (the hospital, the council, schools) who've weighed the rural setting against town convenience and prefer their child's day to start in countryside rather than carparks.
Bomere Heath itself doesn't have a registered day nursery, so parents needing more than the local pre-school's sessional hours look outside the village. The geography means our 6 to 8 minute drive is among the shortest of those options, with no main-road junctions on the lane route through.
School transitions for Bomere Heath children
From our Pre-School Room, Bomere Heath families typically move on to Bomere Heath Primary, Baschurch CofE Primary, or one of the Shrewsbury primaries depending on catchment and preference. We share learning records with each receiving school and run pre-school sessions that mirror reception-class structure, which makes the move feel like a continuation rather than a fresh start.

Frequently asked questions
About three miles west, typically a 6 to 8 minute drive via local country lanes through to Baschurch and onto the Walford Campus. The route is quiet, with no major junctions to negotiate.
It depends which way you're heading. If your week takes you west — toward Oswestry, the A5, or further into rural north Shropshire — the drop-off is essentially on your route. For Shrewsbury-bound commutes you'd be heading in the opposite direction first, so a Shrewsbury-side nursery is usually more practical in those cases.
Yes. Although our setting is in Baschurch, our families come from across north Shropshire — Bomere Heath, Leaton, Montford Bridge, Ruyton-XI-Towns, Wem, Shawbury, and across Shrewsbury. There's no village-of-residence restriction.
Availability shifts week by week as families confirm starts and as children move between rooms. Please call 01939 260006 or message through the website to confirm what's currently open in the room you need before booking a visit.
