Baby Room

0–2 years

Our Baby Room is a cosy, calm and sensory-rich space designed especially for our youngest children. Here, babies and toddlers are cared for by a small, dedicated team who get to know each child and their family closely.

Babies develop their balance and leg muscles using walkers and soft-play equipment, while toddlers push themselves along on ride-on toys. Toys and resources are accessible to enable children to begin selecting for themselves, supporting their growing independence from the very start.

Key Person Approach

Every child in the Baby Room is assigned a key person who builds a special bond with them and their family, providing consistency and security. Staff follow consistent daily routines to help children feel safe and support them to understand and express their emotions.

Daily Highlights

  • Sensory play and exploration
  • Music, singing and early communication
  • Balance and physical development with walkers and soft play
  • Outdoor fresh air time every day
  • Gentle routines for feeding and sleep

Toddler Room

2–3 years

Our Toddler Room is an exciting, vibrant space for our growing toddlers. This is where independence blossoms, and children begin to develop their own personalities and friendships. Children’s independence skills are supported well — they can select from a variety of inviting activities that are fun and inspire them to have a go.

Children delight in running up and over the grass hills in the garden, access movable climbing and construction materials, and develop their self-care skills such as putting on their own coats and changing their shoes. Staff use play opportunities to enhance mathematical understanding — children become absorbed pouring and filling containers with sand and oats, learning concepts like empty, full, bigger and smaller.

Key Person Approach

As children transition from the Baby Room, our key person system ensures continuity of care and familiar, trusted faces. All staff have completed sign language training to support children who need extra assistance with communication.

Daily Highlights

  • Messy and creative play
  • Outdoor adventures — climbing, balancing and grass hills
  • Early mathematical concepts through sand and water play
  • Role play, imagination and storytelling
  • Physical play and self-care development

Pre-School Room

3–5 years

Our Pre-School Room is where children build the confidence, skills and curiosity they need for their next big adventure — starting school. Children demonstrate good levels of confidence and behave well.

Staff successfully promote a love of storytelling, using props to help children express their imaginations and recall skills. Children re-enact familiar stories, explore books, and develop their emotional understanding by discussing how characters might feel. Through a rich programme of activities rooted in play, children develop early literacy, numeracy and social skills.

Key Person Approach

Our experienced pre-school team works closely with families and local schools to ensure a smooth, confident transition to primary school. Staff praise children regularly for their good behaviour, helping to boost confidence and learn how to share and be kind to others.

Daily Highlights

  • Early literacy, phonics and a love of storytelling
  • Mathematical language and problem-solving through play
  • Creative art, imagination and role play
  • Outdoor exploration and teamwork
  • School readiness and building confidence
