About the Role

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic and qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team, caring for children aged 0–4.

At Bojangles Day Nursery, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued and inspired. Set in a beautiful rural location in Baschurch, our nursery offers children the freedom to explore, play and learn in a nurturing woodland environment. As part of our small, dedicated team, you will play a key role in shaping the early experiences that matter most.

As an Early Years Practitioner, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a Key Person for a group of children, building secure and trusting relationships with each child and their family

• Planning and delivering stimulating, age-appropriate activities across all seven areas of the EYFS framework, including Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design

• Observing, assessing and recording children's progress using the observation–assessment–planning cycle, identifying next steps for each child's learning and development

• Supporting children's personal care needs with sensitivity and respect, including nappy changing, toileting, and mealtimes

• Creating and maintaining an enabling indoor and outdoor learning environment that encourages curiosity, exploration and independent play

• Building positive partnerships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and wellbeing

• Working collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to a positive and professional team culture

• Following all safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures, recognising and responding appropriately to any signs of concern

• Supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), working alongside the setting's SENCO and external professionals where required

• Maintaining accurate records and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the room

• Promoting healthy eating, physical activity and good hygiene practices

This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a setting where nature, creativity and care come together — and where your contribution truly makes a difference.

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine passion for early years education and child development
  • Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (e.g. CACHE/NCFE Diploma, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent full and relevant qualification)
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
  • Strong working knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Current enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one — this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List check)
  • Current Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain before start date)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic food hygiene certificate (desirable)
  • Right to work in the UK

What We Offer

  • £27,040 per annum
  • Beautiful woodland and countryside setting
  • Supportive, close-knit team with regular supervision and mentoring
  • Workplace pension scheme
  • Free on-site parking
  • Career progression opportunities within the nursery
  • 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
