# A Nursery for Nesscliffe Families

Just off the A5, ten minutes via the lanes.

Nesscliffe sits on the A5 between Shrewsbury and Oswestry, and Bojangles is about ten minutes north via local lanes. For families who commute along the A5 corridor, the geography lines up neatly — the drop-off is a short detour rather than a separate journey.

## The journey from Nesscliffe

We're about **five miles north-east** of Nesscliffe. The most natural route is via the lanes through Ruyton-XI-Towns into Baschurch, taking around 10 to 12 minutes. Some families prefer to follow the A5 east before turning off — both are similar timings.

The lane route is quiet, scenic, and avoids the A5 junction lights at Nesscliffe. It's the way most of our regular Nesscliffe families come.

## Why Nesscliffe families come to Bojangles

Nesscliffe doesn't have its own day nursery, so families needing full daycare have a choice between Oswestry settings to the west and Bojangles to the north-east. Both are similar drives. Where Bojangles tends to win:

- **The setting itself** — rural, purpose-built, with extensive outdoor grounds rather than a town-centre footprint
- **Year-round opening** — 48 weeks a year, 8am to 6pm, with no need to find holiday cover
- **Baby Room from a few months old** — useful if you're returning to work after maternity leave or have a sibling on the way
- **School progression** — we work with Nesscliffe Primary and Ruyton-XI-Towns CofE Primary, so the move into reception feels familiar

We accept all government-funded childcare hours, including the 30-hour entitlement for working parents from 9 months.

## About Nesscliffe and the families we know

Nesscliffe is a small linear village strung along the A5 between Shrewsbury and Oswestry, with the wooded ridge of Nesscliffe Hill rising behind it. The Country Park up on the hill is a regular weekend walk for families with young children — reachable by buggy, big enough to feel like a proper expedition, and home to Kynaston's Cave (a 14th-century outlaw hideout that older toddlers find genuinely thrilling). Down the hill, the village has a primary school, a pub, and a strong sense of being "between" rather than "in" either of the bigger towns.

Most Nesscliffe families we know commute along the A5 corridor — west toward Oswestry, the A483 and Mid-Wales, or east toward Shrewsbury and the M54. Plenty also work locally in farming, equine yards, or rural-services roles spread across the area. The village itself doesn't have a day nursery, so parents needing full-day care look in two directions: Bojangles 10 to 12 minutes north-east via the lanes, or Oswestry 10 to 15 minutes west on the A5. Choice usually comes down to which way work pulls you.

For families staying in or commuting east, Bojangles tends to win on the rural setting and the year-round cover. For families anchored west of Nesscliffe, Oswestry settings often make more sense.

## School transitions in the Nesscliffe area

From our Pre-School Room, Nesscliffe families most often move on to Nesscliffe CofE Primary or Ruyton-XI-Towns CofE Primary. We share learning records with the receiving school and run pre-school routines that mirror reception class.
